July
14th is Bastille Day. This French national holiday
commemorates the storming of the Bastille, which took place on 14 July
1789 and marked the beginning of the French Revolution. The
Butler & The Chef Bistro will be open all day
and all night serving many of
your favorite traditional French dishes, French beer and wine, and
playing
French
music. Come on down and help us celebrate this important French holiday!
No reservations required.
"Wild Game Night",
which will feature several dishes dreamed up by Chef Joel and his staff
made from fresh game, is still in the planning stages.
Warm
weather has returned to San Francisco and with it our
famous Baguette sandwiches have returned to the lunch
menu. Always a favorite, choose from one of our many authentic French
sandwiches served on a ½ baguette
of French bread with your choice of
a Mixed Greens or Baby Spinach Salade,
OR
a cup of our delicious French Onion Soup, or Soup
du Jour (always vegetarian.)
Our baguettes are, as is all of the bread we serve, baked fresh daily
from 100% organic flour.
The
U.N. Environment Programme selected San Francisco to
be the host for "2005
UN World Environment Day" June 1st - June 5th,
the first time in the event's 35-year history that it is being held
in the United States. As strong believers
in sustainable culture TB&TCB has sought to do our
part as well as educate our customers when ever possible. As a result
we are participating in
the Sustainable Cuisine Program, hosted by Om
Organics. Many of the ingredients
used in preparing our dishes are organic as are all of our breads and
pastries. We hope you will join us in supporting this very worthy cause.
In
April The Butler & The Chef Bistro received
an
HONORABLE MENTION in the Fifth Annual CORY Awards for Small
Sized Food Establishments.
BOMA San Francisco's Annual Commercial Recycler
of the Year Awards program recognizes building owners and managers,
hotels, and food establishments with successful recycling programs that
support
waste reduction. These awards are available through the support of the San
Francisco Department of the Environment, BOMA
San Francisco and Golden
Gate Disposal and Recycling Company.
TB&TCB has in place a comprehensive
composting and recycling program and we have converted
the majority of our disposable items to Biodegradable replacements.
We hope that all of our customers, vendors, friends, and families will
join us in this urgent effort to save our planet.
